Independent Educational Evaluations

Busy Bees Behavioral Consulting provides comprehensive, independent evaluations for students with behavioral, developmental, and learning-related needs.

Evaluations are designed to provide families and school teams with an objective understanding of a student’s strengths, needs, and the factors affecting behavior and learning. Services may include record review, interviews, classroom observations, functional behavior assessment, data analysis, and individualized recommendations to support educational planning.

Who These Evaluations Are For

Families requesting an independent perspective on a student’s behavioral or educational needs
Students whose current supports, behavior plans, or services may not be fully addressing their needs
Families preparing for or navigating IEP meetings, placement decisions, or behavior support planning
Schools or families seeking an objective Functional Behavior Assessment or other behavior-focused evaluation

Evaluations are individualized to the student and may be used to help inform IEP development, behavioral programming, and school-based supports.

What a IEE Includes

Each Independent Educational Evaluation is individualized to the student and their educational environment and may include:

Record Review & Background Information
- Review of IEPs, behavior plans, evaluations, progress reports, and relevant school records
- Interviews with parents, educators, and other members of the student’s team
- Identification of concerns, strengths, previous interventions, and areas requiring further evaluation
Direct Observation & Assessment
- Classroom observations across relevant routines, activities, and settings
- Assessment of behavior, communication, learning, and environmental variables
- Identification of patterns, triggers, skill deficits, and factors that may be influencing behavior
Functional Behavior Assessment
- Data collection and analysis to better understand why behaviors occur
- Evaluation of antecedents, consequences, environmental variables, and skill needs
- Development of function-based recommendations when appropriate
Educational & Behavioral Analysis
- Review of how current supports and interventions are addressing the student’s needs
- Consideration of the student’s access to instruction, participation, independence, and overall school functioning
- Identification of additional supports or strategies that may be appropriate
Comprehensive Written Report & Recommendations
- A detailed written report summarizing assessment findings
- Clear, individualized, evidence-based recommendations
- Recommendations that may inform IEP goals, behavioral supports, accommodations, services, or educational programming
Results Review & Team Collaboration
- Review of findings and recommendations with the family
- Participation in school or IEP meetings when requested
- Clear explanation of results so families and school teams can make informed decisions about next steps
